Single episode / Recurrent; Mild / Moderate / Severe; With psychotic features; In partial remission / In full remission
MDD (full criteria met - reclassify); PDD/Dysthymia (chronic subthreshold); Adjustment disorder with depressed mood
Bipolar I or II disorder (prior manic or hypomanic episode - always ask before treating); Persistent depressive disorder / dysthymia (milder, chronic > 2 years); Grief/bereavement (proportionate; preserved pleasure)
