Clinical Pearl

DPP-4 inhibitors work by saving the body's natural GLP-1. If a patient is already taking a synthetic GLP-1 agonist (like Ozempic or Trulicity), adding Sitagliptin provides absolutely zero extra benefit. They should never be prescribed together.
