During recurrent episodes of dissociative disturbance, there have been clinically significant dissociative symptoms; partial identity disruption without full identity fragmentation; chronic or recurrent dissociative states lasting minutes to hours; dissociative trance states with narrowing of awareness; episodes of mixed dissociative intrusions not meeting full criteria for Dissociative Identity Disorder; dissociative symptoms occurring in response to stress but not meeting duration or threshold requirements for specific dissociative disorders, forming a pattern consistent with a dissociative syndrome that does not meet the full structured criteria of recognised dissociative disorders. These symptoms have resulted in clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or interpersonal functioning.
