Core criterion A
Over ≥6 months, recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, urges, or behaviours involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children (generally ≤13 years)
Core criterion B
Individual has acted on these urges, or the urges/fantasies cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty
Core criterion C
Individual is ≥16 years and ≥5 years older than the child or children in Criterion A (not including late adolescents in an ongoing relationship with a 12–13 year old)
Consistent with [Paedophilic Disorder] [specifier(s)]. Over a period of at least six months, there have been recurrent and intense sexual arousal involving prepubescent children (generally age 13 years or younger); sexual arousal manifested by fantasies, urges, or behaviours; acting on these urges with a child, or marked distress or interpersonal difficulty related to the urges, forming a persistent paedophilic pattern. The individual is at least 16 years of age and at least five years older than the child or children. These symptoms have resulted in clinically significant distress or impairment, or risk of harm to children.
